I'm a bit of an eclectic mess πŸ™‚ I've been a programmer, journalist, editor, TV producer, and a few other things.

I'm currently working on my second novel which is complete, but is in the edit stage. I wrote my first novel over 20 years ago but then didn't write much till now.

I post about #Coding, #Flutter, #Writing, #Movies and #TV. I'll also talk about #Technology, #Gadgets, #MachineLearning, #DeepLearning and a few other things as the fancy strikes ...

I’m a 18‐year‐old transgirl from Eastern Germany. My parents are right‐wing extremists and have a problem with trans people. I am currently staying with my grandma, but she wants me out by 8 September latest.

I am going to stay with a friend from 9 to 10 September, but I still need a place to crash from 8 to 9 September, and also a more permanent solution for the time after. I am not bound to any particular place, but I would like to stay in Germany for now.

I am also looking for a job in IT, preferably in systems operations. I have been working with Linux in my free time for a few years now and I am really into NixOS. CV upon request.

Fahim Farook

I read a book and I liked it πŸ™‚

It's been a while since I've compleed a book. I've picked up multiple books over the last few years and I generally couldn't finish them.

But then I started reading "Pink Tuxedo" this weekend and by the time I got to the middle of the book, I couldn't put it down.

Here's my review:

@jefframes We weren't doing TIme Machine backups but were using CCC for backup and Synology worked very well for the two of us (me and the wife) for years.

I don't really like Time Machine since it caused way too many issues for our own needs πŸ™‚

We've also just used rsync to backup stuff and that has worked very well and was much faster in some cases than CCC. But basically, CCC is really fast after the first backup but the first backup takes a long time. rsync was consistently fast but is slower than the secondary backups for CCC, if that makes sense πŸ™‚

The only reason we switched away from Synology was because the Synology is too big to travel with.

LAST DAY!

In honor of Tales of Ardonna appearing in more markets, I've created my first Smashwords coupons! πŸ₯³

From now until September 1, the first book in each timeline is half off.

The Mage Era is technically the beginning:

If you enjoy more classic fantasy tropes, you might prefer the Dragon Age:

Or jump right into the Modern Era, where people are losing their minds:

It's time for the job hunt again. If you've been enjoying my posts now's your chance to see how I work!

If anyone has NY-based or remote or roles at the Lead/Manager/Director level, please sent them my way!

And if not - I'd still appreciate the signal boost.

Due to the massive layoffs at Branch two weeks ago, I am currently in search of a new job opportunity.

I'm looking for something along the lines of customer support specialist, customer support manager, customer service manager, community management, social media management or similar. (cont...)

@AngelaPreston Thanks, Angela πŸ™‚I think the overall reaction from most people so far has been that they like the left one (with my name in green) better.

But you're probably one of the few to articulat why πŸ™‚And it's very interesting ot know why because it helps in figuring out what kind of cover might appeal to people generally.

I thought the reason that the orange sky one turned off people was because the orange was too strong. We were experimenting with a few other variations to see if softening the colour might help. But your explanation leads me to think that that isn't the issue at all ...

@Nichelle I loved the Josh Kirby covers on Terry's books πŸ™‚ The covers were the reason I got into Discworld in the first place.

I did consider something like that when I first started writing but the price that I was quoted (at that time) was astronomical. Still don't have the funds to pay for something like that πŸ˜›

But do appreciate the suggestions. The covered tray with a tail stickig out would work though I bet, I'm going to have some very cross people on my case after that too πŸ˜€

@nlowell Yep, my head's spinning with all the information from coverdesign experts and gurus. I think general readers don't actually follow those guidelines at all when picking a book. When I go with a cover because I like it, it seems to work better πŸ˜›

@Nichelle Thank you for the feedback and details πŸ™‚

I'm coming to the conclusion that I might need a different choice too. Just not sure how to convey the humour except by going for a more illustrated look. Just not sure that would work though.

@alexito4 I've just shifted focus on the existing account for the same reason πŸ™‚ Creating a second account is probably cleaner, but I'm moving away from Swift development anyway and it feels like too much effort (to me at least) to create a new profile and build new relationships/userbases.
