I'm a bit of an eclectic mess 🙂 I've been a programmer, journalist, editor, TV producer, and a few other things.

I'm currently working on my second novel which is complete, but is in the edit stage. I wrote my first novel over 20 years ago but then didn't write much till now.

I post about #Coding, #Flutter, #Writing, #Movies and #TV. I'll also talk about #Technology, #Gadgets, #MachineLearning, #DeepLearning and a few other things as the fancy strikes ...

@AngelaPreston I guess the things to try (you might have already tried these …) would be:
1. Clear browser cache
2. Logout of the account and log back in
3. If you have access to a VPN, try with the VPN on/off

Those would be what I’d try first in case this is somehow device/location specific. I do have the issue with getting about four posts on my particular server but that’s an Akkoma instance and my guess is that Akkoma has its own issues sometimes.

Hopefully, some of the above helps?

“Creating a Large Language Model of a Philosopher” — Tries to answer the question: “Can large language models be trained to produce philosophical texts that are difficult to distinguish from texts produced by human philosophers?” by fine-tuning OpenAI's GPT-3 with the works of philosopher Daniel C. Dennett.

"The Learnable Typewriter: A Generative Approach to Text Line Analysis. (arXiv:2302.01660v1 [cs.CV])" — A generative document-specific approach to character analysis and recognition in text lines which builds on unsupervised multi-object segmentation methods, and in particular, those that reconstruct images based on a limited amount of visual elements, called sprites. This approach can learn a large number of different characters and leverage line-level annotations when available.

@DaNanner Hadn’t even thought of audiobooks. I never really do, till somebody suggests it — so, thanks for the suggestion 🙂 Will have to check to see if there are any available …

Apparently there’s three books in the series and it looks as if he’s doing a book a year and releasing in September. So will have something to catch up on if I get into it I guess 😛

We watch a lot of British TV and so we knew of him from various panel shows. But I don’t think many in the US would have heard of him ….

@RamenCatholic I hadn’t written in a long time but a few months back got into it just by simply starting a serialised story on my blog. Just needing to have another post ready to go the next day kept me going for a good two weeks … and then I slipped and haven’t written again for a while 😛

Hoping to try that again here by doing a story post once a week and see how it goes. Wrote the first instalment yesterday actually but haven’t published it yet. Possibly sometime this week and then I’ll see how it goes …

Hi! 👋
I've recently migrated to DataSci instance, so it's time for a new introduction:

I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I'm a linguist doing a PhD in Education in the University of Buenos Aires. I'm a enthusiast and I've recently started to learn .

I have a blog where I write about code, generative art, and education, mostly in Spanish but trying to keep it bilingual: https://macarenaquiroga.netlify.app/
