I'm a bit of an eclectic mess πŸ™‚ I've been a programmer, journalist, editor, TV producer, and a few other things.

I'm currently working on my second novel which is complete, but is in the edit stage. I wrote my first novel over 20 years ago but then didn't write much till now.

I post about #Coding, #Flutter, #Writing, #Movies and #TV. I'll also talk about #Technology, #Gadgets, #MachineLearning, #DeepLearning and a few other things as the fancy strikes ...

I think my new hobby is finding photogenic spots for my motorcycle like this old vintage Texaco sign just outside of old town Acworth.

Most folks know about da VInci's Vitruvian Man. But not as many know about Buckminster Fuller's Cheetodesic Dome.

β€žThe morning bird gets the wormβ€œ
Do not listen to that bullshit. Worms are gross.
Sleep. I saw some birds eating stuff at 4pm.
Donβ€˜t get fooled by Big Wormℒ️

I keep hearing that is not likely to replace . To that I say: so what?
I've been contributing to the desktop for the last 15 years not because it's likely to replace , but because providing people with free desktop is the right thing to do.
I use and support Mastodon not because it's likely to replace Twitter, but because it's a social network done right.

I'm a former historian, researcher / author who switched careers about a year ago to become a software engineer (currently an ML engineer @ ZenML working on ).

I'm retraining myself to think and work in technical domains. Software is my day job, but around the edges I'm studying (mainly via ), mathematics (via Open University's degree) and also the 'Basic Program' at Chicago University.

Day 27

Hellebores in my garden
I took this photo last March while having a wander in my back garden. At the time I had Covid and was looking for something to cheer myself up. The Hellebore flowers provided that cheer. Although I did manage to slice my finger open while cutting the flowers πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

My latest soft pastel artwork is titled 'Bluebird for Happiness and Lucky Clover' becuase it combines a beautiful Eastern bluebird with a four-leaf clover. One symbolizes happiness while the other is a symbol of luck.
See this artwork now in my online gallery at https://mm-anderson.pixels.com/featured/bluebird-for-happiness-and-lucky-clover-mm-anderson.html and soon on the other sites listed in my profile.

Do I know any product design people looking for a new opportunity? A little birdie tells me a large and growing open source project will be looking to hire a product designer soonβ€”likely working on established apps as well as new services.

Shoot me a DM (e.g. reply to this post with the visibility set to only people you mention) or get in touch somehow. https://cassidyjames.com

St Dunstan-in-the-East, London.

Designed approx 1100 on St Dunstan's Hill, halfway between London Bridge and the Tower of London, this church has been added to and rebuilt multiple times over the centuries (as is common for buildings of this age). After damage from the Great Fire of London in 1666, Christopher Wren added a steeple. It was largely destroyed in WWII and the ruins are now a public garden.
