St Dunstan-in-the-East, London.

Designed approx 1100 on St Dunstan's Hill, halfway between London Bridge and the Tower of London, this church has been added to and rebuilt multiple times over the centuries (as is common for buildings of this age). After damage from the Great Fire of London in 1666, Christopher Wren added a steeple. It was largely destroyed in WWII and the ruins are now a public garden.

I’ve been playing around with Midjourney and StableDiffusion. (See prompt below, “woman making pasta cyberpunk tech light”), and wondering why exactly it is that neural nets can’t draw hands.

I found a super interesting book about how humans learn to draw, and it turns out that drawing hands is hard for people too because they have so many dimensions and variations to them.

I don’t believe I updated the repo with the later code which added the Mastodon posting and stats and stuff to it though since that didn’t gel with the original #MachineLearning approach 🙂 But if you are interested, I can send you the latest source as a ZIP file?

Or I guess I should set up a separate repo if you are interested in contributing to the code. I’ve kind of hit all my targets for features (except for a stats screen and the ability to view old papers … but too busy with Mastodon clients at the moment to get that done). Let me know …

@AngelaPreston If I could remember stuff for more than a few minutes, I’d probably be excited too 😛 Fortunately, age (or whatever) has deprived me of the capacity to remember things for too long and so I no longer anticipate anything and am so totally surprised when something I’d previously known about suddenly appears out of the fog of darknesss 🙂

This is Cici, a longhaired tortoiseshell cat! Her portrait was painted with acrylics on a 3 inch ceramic ornament, just finished yesterday. This features natural colors (for the pet) on a hot pink background, with a bit of blue for contrast. I am pleased with how this turned out. I think I am getting the hang of painting on such a small surface!
