As we reflect on 156 years of confederation as a nation, and the many positive things about Canada, it's important to acknowledge that our home is on Indigenous land.

The Indigenous people we share this land with are celebrating around 15,000+ years of culture.

This beautiful Indigenous version of Canada's flag was designed by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Curtis Wilson.

These are pied stilts. They come to "my" lake (Herdsman) in Summer, sometimes in BIG numbers and then they tend to leave over Winter so it was quite a pleasant surprise to find this group in what is otherwise a bit of a quiet time for birds here. #birds #birdphotography #nature
