Updated Akkoma on our server to the latest. New graphs, yay!! Hopefully, nothing broke though since I’m always scared of stuff breaking once I’ve updated since I’m always in a rush …

Dusk over Lake Superior

I got a little carried away with the alt tag/image description. That's the meat of the post. There are like a million characters to use there. Mastodon should allow x4 the characters in toots. That'd be cool. Call it a Super Toot or a Massive Toot. Everyone gets one a day. Anyway, I digress.

Apologies for the non-art posting as I'm job hunting. Unsure if this will work since I mostly see tech-job postings, but shooting my shot. Boosts appreciated

Philippine-based person looking for work in landscape architecture, urban planning, transport planning, or anything where my skills are applicable in related jobs. Would consider work in climate change also.

Skills in technical writing, AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, Lumion, GIS, illustration

i boosted this site earlier but i think it deserves more explanation. this is a search engine for images that shows you the copyright status for the image right there front and center and you can filter for them. for instance i grabbed this copyright 0 image of an echidna from there. and it even generated a citation for me: "Echidna on the move" by CazzJj is marked with CC0 1.0. i think this is a really easy way for getting a reference image while ensuring the person who took the image consents to its use! https://openverse.org/

welp, I'd rather do this sooner than later.

I've got just a couple of days to come up with the rest of money that I need for my bills and I'm still only at 35% of my goal.

I've been desperately looking for any work I can do to help me out with my expenses and trying to study for a test for a government job that is coming up but the bills keep coming, curve balls keep being thrown at me and it's been really really hard to... just get out of bed but day after day here I am >.<

I just want to live and be able to do cool stuff for people to enjoy :')

boosts help me a whole lot, for real, as it helps me reach more people so if you could please just hit that button it would be amazing and ofc donations are always very welcome as they are what've been keeping me alive for the last months.

thanks for your ever continued support ms_bow

I've not been feeling well and haven't done art in a couple of days, or been here, either. I hope today is a better day.

Forest Bears

2023-01-30 day 228 of doing art every day for a year (mostly – I took sick days off).

This is a Tatyworks tutorial. I did a few things a bit different than her instructions indicated. I like it!

Boat on a Beach series

2023-01-28/29 day 226/227 of doing art every day for a year (mostly – I took sick days off).

I started with a reference photo, and after I painted the first one, I decided to experiment with various styles and methods. I was curious, and what better way to learn?

I’m curious which one you like most? I mean, I know which one I prefer, and Fahim gave me his vote as well, but what about you?

2023-01-24/25 day 222/223 of doing art every day for a year (mostly - I took sick days off).

This is a James Julier tutorial. This is not meant to be a faithful reproduction of Uluru - I did not use a photo reference.

Apple in Oil

2023-01-20 day 221 of doing art every day for a year (mostly - I took sick days off).

Some friends commented about a previous piece, titles Oranges in Oil, and how they expected oranges swimming in oil, like a food item. Totally fair. This piece was titled prior to their comments, so it stays. Just because.

My poor wife has the patience of a saint and I am guilty of such heinous crimes against humanity, that I should have been murdered long ago 😛

Case in point …

My wife says, “There’s a jam jar on the table.” which is code for, “there’s an almost empty jam jar that you can clean out by eating the last of the jam."

Of course, I simply respond with: “There are some boxes on the table.”

She gives me the look that’s reserved just for me — “Are you daft? Or are you intentionally mistaking what I said?” is what it says.

“What? I thought we were making observations,” I respond, smiling innocently 😀

As the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean west of Rapa Nui (Easter Island, Chile) beautiful blue and pink rays project upwards from the horizon. A moai (statue) is silhouetted in the foreground. See more here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/rapa-nui-moai-and-sunset-2-joan-carroll.html

Sharon Cummings Art (Official)

I like to recreate my art by taking a piece that I painted years ago and giving it new life! It gives my collectors fresh art that was just sitting in my archives. I was inspired by a fallen dragonfly on my back porch and remembered this one. BOOSTS/FOLLOWS APPRECIATED!!

ART is HERE: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/enchanted-colorful-dragonfly-art-sharon-cummings.html
