“Lend your ears to music, open your eyes to painting, and… stop thinking!”
Wassily Kandinsky

I have synaesthesia. A condition not so rare as you might think. Kandinsky had it too. Here is a short film about it:

And a painting by Kandinsky to get you thinking or feeling. Maybe hearing or tasting? Callled ‘Painting with a Green Centre’ from 1913. Lines, shapes, colours. Not of anything maybe, but of something?

Been switching between several different Mastodon clients recently, trying to figure out what works best for us and so far, I think Tusker (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tusker/id1498334597) is the one which works the best for my own needs (and that of my wife) …

Some features are a bit harder to find, but the overall app shows a level of care and consideration that indicates that this is an app which has been in development over time and that the developer uses the app personally. It has a lot of the features that I wanted and about the only major thing it’s missing is the ability to edit posts.

I’m using it on macOS as a Catalyst app and there are some minor personal niggles of mine on macOS, but since the source is available, I’ll be making the changes myself (and sharing with the author if they would like to add it to the main app).

For the time being, I think I’m sorted 😛

This is nectaring on the flowers of the Blue in Guelph .The Ruby Throated Hummingbird, Archilochus colubris, is a tiny bird species that is about 7-9cm long and has a 8-11cm wing span. Nectar from flowers as well as small insects and spiders are its main food.

Dune-du-Sud on Île du Havre aux Maisons is one of the more interesting beaches in Îles de la Madeleine, . It has some caves you can explore at low tide.

I have just been alerted to the fact that I, too, have missed National Squirrel Appreciation day, as noted by @colinpurrington and @elliek
Here is my belated contribution to the theme. They are among my favourite animal subjects to photograph as they are so full of mischief. This was taken at in where they abound and are relatively fearless.

I really, really loved this beautiful in , peninsula, . We did this Quebec road trip in a little Honda Fit and boy, did that car struggle a lot. There's a lot of mountain roads with steep incline in Quebec and the poor car just wasn't made for that kind of terrain. At least it was fuel efficient?

Our backyard pond is filled with and with some of them being quite large. One of my favourite is this superb pink lily with yellow center, . I love the deep rich yellow centre and the blushing petals.

My today is a Kestrel that flew toward me and landed so close I could get only part of it in frame. I love it when a bird or animal comes closer.

Laurie Ashton Farook

The husband, as usual, is working on an iOS app for the Fediverse for us. So of course I find a bug and have to resurrect our bug tracking system.

Something different from my usual wild horses. Just got back from a trip to North Carolina's Outer Banks and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. These sunrises made it worth getting up in the dark.
