@violetSpark to be fair, cherry pie is still an excellent option.

Another plug for #TENSMachines aka my #ElectrocutionMachine. They provide controlled electrocution to wherever you place the pads, and that interrupts pain signals, amongst other things.

If you have #ChronicPain, you might want to read up on these devices to see if they might work for you.

This one had two channels, so I can run two sets of wires. One of my wires had two pairs of connectors while the other one only has one, so I can treat a total of three areas. If I had another double connector, I could do four.

I currently have them attached to both knees plus my right shoulder/clavicle.

Painkillers tend to not work for me, so this is just brilliant. I mean, no pain would be better, but since I can't have that, I'll take this.

@Julie also Covid-anxious. Had Covid 5 times, despite being vaxxed, masking, and not being within 12 or so feet of anyone other than the hubs, who takes similar precautions except he interacts with people when necessary, ie deliveries, repairs. I'm due for another round soon.

Hello everyone! My name is Julie, I'm one of those "covid-anxious" individuals who has restructured their entire life to attempt to survive this pandemic. I scream into the void occasionally about my frustrations.

Just sending out a welcome to our newest COVID-cautious mastodon users! Looking forward to getting to know you.

@ziaro they lie. Ignore them. I just took a look, and the half dozen pieces I've seen are very very good. I am no expert, but I think they're beautiful.

One more before month ends! I has so much fun doing this and I'm happy with the result. It's not perfect, but it doesn't have to be. What you think?

@Curator I give new users what I call the 5-5-5 Challenge

It's simple and they do it every day for five days (or over 7 days) and do three things every day.

1. Post five toots (new posts and/or replies)

2. Boost five toots

3. Follow five people

At the end, new users will have a total of 50 toots in their profile and will follow 25 people to help fill out their feed. It also prompts the habit of discovery that's necessary to thrive here.

Hi! I've actually been here for a while, but never got around to making a proper . I'm Raquel, a writer and fantasy map nerd from Spain. My pronouns are she/her or ella.

I toot mostly in Spanish, but I'm into , and , , specially female fronted bands (ask me about The Listâ„¢), , and cooking.

I like a normal amount.

Alright, lovelies. Let's have a , to shape this space a little. I plan to do prompts/challenges, much like the main @Curator does, and I'm looking for your input. How often would you like to see these, not including boosts of other, already existing prompts? Keep in mind this can always change later as need arises!

50% Once weekly
33% Twice weekly
0% Three times a week
16% Daily (possibly weekdays only.)

If there was one piece of advice I could give to new Mastodon users who are finding their feeds quiet or boring, it is to follow as many people and hashtags as you can. This is not Twitter; there is no algorithm, it is not going to fill your feed with stuff it thinks you like. You have to curate it yourself. Once you do, though, it's so much more vibrant and rewarding than Twitter has been for a year.

Dear Twitter people. Lots of us were once Twitter people too. This place will not spoon-feed you. Passive participation doesn’t work here. This is a very active and buzzing place, but unless you FOLLOW people and INTERACT, it will pass you by.

Follow people. Lots of them. You can always remove them later. But really, follow early, follow often.

@Fulltimesickgal that was one of my reasons for when I went self employed in the 1990s. The other reason was because my then-current employer sucked rocks.

I wish you much success with this venture.
