Step into the sunshine and soak up the beauty of the Galway Waterfront on this winter day 🌞 - this was some years ago but can you feel the sunny day joy?

Please understand something: if a Disabled person has to ask someone else for access to something – an elevator; a written transcript; an environment that accommodates their disabilities – that thing is not accessible.

The very popular Cyprus traditional Souvla dish. The choice of meat used is either pork, chicken or lamb, slowly cooked on a charcoal spit, called a foukou.

Fogscape: Bus Stop.

Nex-3N

It’s been a bit of a crappy week for ; too many doctors, not enough sleep, too much work, etc…. But the fog came back and I was able to work on a concept.

@f the more I think about it, the more I like the links. It helps to explain cross cultural stuff for those who are curious.

Finally got started on the story that I’ve been meaning to serialise for a while now. I wanted to get enough writing done this weekend to publish at least two parts over the week, but apparently that’s not going to happen πŸ˜›

On the other hand, the story is really falling into place and I love where the characters are taking me!

I also realized that most of my writing has hidden tidbits and connections that people might not always find/get. I lay these breadcrumbs out because I love discovering these things in other people’s writing. So I thought maybe I should start adding annotations at the end of each part with a link to more info, not a full explanation of what is going on, but enough info for those curious enough to explore further β€” I guess we’ll see how that goes …

Now to see if I can get a better image to go along with the story β€” probably will take the rest of the day to do that πŸ˜›

New skill acquired, cathedral window quilting. Fun and frustrating at the same time. Fairly easy method taught as well, as long as you are accurate with the points at every stage. Only a few seams ripped along the way πŸ˜‚

Dramatic clouds at Ahu Tongariki, the site on Rapa Nui (Easter Island) having the largest number of moai (statues to honor the dead). See more here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/sunrise-on-easter-island-chile-joan-carroll.html

One of the hobbies I developed when social distancing was a thing was exploring ghost towns and abandoned places. This is one of the most well-known abandoned homes in Ontario, possibly Canada, known as the Guyitt Homestead. The lawn surrounding the house is still maintained, but the house is falling apart.

@stephaniepixie howdy! Fellow Canuck here, although I don't live there any more. Not a gardener - too disabled for that - but greatly respect those who do. Welcome to the fediverse.

Hello fellow Denizens!

Here is my (Sept 2023 edit):

My name is Stephanie and I’m also ok with Steph or pixie. I love cats so feel free to mute cat-related hashtags if it’s too much.

I’m a 40-something Canadian white cis lesbian/queer woman (she/her) who loves art (I do some digital art), animation (I adore the show Arcane), soccer (especially watching NWSL), animals (particularly cats like my mini panther Ava πŸˆβ€β¬›), video games (Red Dead Redemption 2, FIFA/EAFC, Assassin’s Creed, Cities Skylines, The Sims4), reading cheesy lesbian romance novels (recently expanding to sci-fi lesbian romance 😜) and learning about other people’s nerdy obsessions.

I’ve never been evaluated for autism but I think it’s likely that I am autistic. I gravitate to autistic people and have been learning more about autism and about disability advocacy in general.

I do my best to be inclusive and make my posts as accessible as possible and I am open to being shown a better way.

Some beliefs: I am gender inclusive, pro abortion, pro vaccines, anti-policing, anti-racist, anti-fascist.

I believe we all have the right to access healthcare, housing, food, education, transportation and all our accessibility needs without having to rely on income. I believe this world of community care is possible even if I have tendencies to be a loner.

I’m looking forward to meeting you all.

Some hashtags that represent me and my interests:
