What's the longest period of writer's block you've suffered, or do you not suffer?

30 years, I guess you could say. Although I didn't actively try to write during most of that time, my creativity had petered out for a while at the beginning of that period. I had a lot of other things going on, including college where I had to write a lot of non-fiction. Once I got back into fiction writing 7 years ago, I didn't stop.

@crcollins I can empathize 🙂I wrote my first novel over 20 years ago and then got busy with life, work, moving around etc. While I wanted to write more, there never seemed to be enough time. Finally getting around to actually trying to finish my second novel and I realize how much I could have written in those 20 years .. maybe.

Hindshight's always fun 😛

@f

I honestly didn't expect to ever get my book written. It was a surprise when it turned into a trilogy and a greater shock when I had more books to write after that. I'll be publishing book 9 in September.

@crcollins I'm thrilled for you because I know how exciting it is when things come together 🙂

I started my first book intending for it to be a series. But it never quite got there. But my wife, who's a writer too, loved the univers I created and she started putting her books in the same universe. She's written at least 2 - 3 novels set in the same universe.

My second novel's set in the same universe as well and so I guess it's kind of a series in terms of setting but not quite. I do want the characters in my second novel to appear in more books, but the third novel (which I'm already working on) is about totally differnt characters.

So I'm not sure if I'll ever actually get to a series. But who knows?

But 9 books! I don't know if I can even dream that far ahead 😛
