Over the weekend I read two books, which is something I haven't done for a while. They were The Last Graduate and The Golden Enclaves, from The Scholomance Trilogy. I really enjoyed these books. I like the way magic works in the world that @naominovik built, and I enjoyed the characters she created.

@AngelaPreston This is the second time I’ve seen somebody mention Scholomance on here and mention how they liked the magic system. I love magic systems which are done well … So might have to give it a try and see if that will get me back on reading 🙂

@f (it might have been me the other time, too - I posted about really enjoying the first book sometime around December or January, I think)

@AngelaPreston I thought it was somebody else but my memory’s so bad that I might be totally wrong 🙂

@electragician @naominovik I am so glad you said that because I have a question about it. How do you pronounce it?

This came up with some other friends of mine who also remembered that, and apparently it is a long-running issue for them.

Is it like "scholar" where it's more of an "sk" sound, or is it an "sh" sound? Like when people say "shedule" instead of "skedule?" (for schedule)

"SKAWL" rhymes with "AWL"

"MAHNCE" rhymes with "FONTS."

(But only from this American New York enclaver! global accents will vary.)
