Aside from "a testament to" frequency and the incessant monotone of fancy words without cleverness or character, needless use of the word "utilize" instead of "use" really stands out. It's like it got a higher score.

@androidarts I know a few people who'd rather use a $5 word where a 2 cent word would do — and some of them are vehement "AI" activists. So I wonder what they'd say about this trend? 😛

@f I tried checking out some translated xianxia recently. Since it's likely written in Chinese originally (how is hard to say) in this case I think the translation software/procedure might be responsible for the stylistic sameyness.

@ghosttie xianxia, but also western fantasy, and english isekai. Royal Road type stories.
