🤔

1. Who will budge first? Apple or X? Will Apple (for the first time in App Store history) allow a single character App name?

2. Will Twitter URLs undergo a sea change? Or will your tweets/X’s continue to appear with the domain “twitter dot com”?

@davemark Why would Apple budge? It seems that they don’t allow apps with single letter names. They could just leave it X – the Elon App.

@mcelhearn Last I checked, the name was still Twitter, on the App Store. With the X logo.

@davemark I believe the display name on device is “X” while the app name on the App Store is still “Twitter” 🙂 @mcelhearn

@f @mcelhearn @davemark yes, it is. Apple requires at least 2 letters in all app names.

@f @mcelhearn @davemark yep. You can assign a display name in XCode. I’m desperately hoping Mastodon can become a viable X replacement!
