@Miteroni “Do Android’s Dream of Electric Sheep?” has got to be the most memorable one for me … Not that I’ve read Philip K. Dick extensively … 🙂

@f Oh you really should. He's a fantastic writer.
For my answer:
The novel that Total Recall is based on is called We Can Remember It For You Wholesale and I just love it so much

@Miteroni I think all the Philip K. Dick that I read was when I was around 14 - 18 and that was a long time ago 😛That’s when I devoured all the science fiction I could find …

These days, it would be a wonder if I can find the time to read even some short stories. Tried to read some short story collections from the Golden Age about half a year ago and just couldn’t concentrate enough to keep up 😕

@f I can relate to that, for sure. Ive been trying to make time for screenless endeavours, and catching up on my physical book reading is a big priority

@Miteroni Incidentally, now that you’ve reminded me, I do remember the “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale”, but didn’t when I was thinking of your question 🙂

Another similar title I really liked was “Overdrawn at the Memory Banks” but not PDK. I always think it was by Vernor Vinge but I believe it is by John Varley instead. Never can remember who it is … 😛

@Tattooed_mummy I know I got his books way back when and I think I did read some of it like “Doc Savage” and whatever his Tarzan stuff was, but not sure I read the Riverworld series …

I know I had at least some of the books, but my recollection is that I was waiting to complete the series before I started reading it and never did …

I did watch the TV show that they did on SciFi channel(?) though but I think that was horrible? 😛

@Tattooed_mummy If I remember correctly, Farmer liked playing in everybody else’s sandbox — so that series was perfect for his type of writing. I think he had an “Around the World in 80 Days” re-working too, didn’t he?

And then there was his Tarzan stuff as well as the Tarzan-alternate he wrote about — I forget the name, it was so long ago ….

@Tattooed_mummy Which one is this? According to IMDB, apparently there were two — one in 1975 and another with The Rock though it’s possible that the latter never got made …

I don’t think I knew of either one but will make a note to try and find it. Thanks 🙂
