There a good community that talks about, offers recommendations for SciFi/Fantasy books?

Been doing a lot of reading lately, shifting to SciFi/Fantasy.

Currently reading โ€œFifth Seasonโ€, Hugo Award in 2016. Really like it. Looking for more.

Suggestions for communities? Favorite books?

@davemark The Terra Ignota series by Ada Palmer (Too Like the Lightning etc). Perhaps my all-time favourite books.

@davemark If you'd like to try a book by me, then there's the following ๐Ÿ™‚

It's humorous science fiction โ€” so lots of wordplay and cheeky references. Might or (might not) be your cup of tea/coffee ๐Ÿ˜› People who read it have had kind things to say but I have no idea if it's good or not.

@davemark

The hashtags for each although they tend to be a wee bit over-populated by authors

The bookstodon and reading tags

I need to find a better way to promote the books I'm reading here. BookWyrm isn't doing it.

I know there's a mechanism but damned if I have found it yet ๐Ÿคช

@davemark For general search/discovery, besides the hashtags, what you might want to try are groups:

I found out about them some time back and bookmarked for looking into later but haven't actually used them ๐Ÿ™‚

@davemark Project Hail Mary is my new favourite book (cant wait for the movie). I enjoyed The Final Architecture & Children of Time trilogies. I'm currently working thru Shadows of the Apt and enjoying that series. The Rithmatist was enjoyable as well.
