The Elderkin Chronicles are tales of sorcery, swashbuckling, court intrigue and survival in a world elsewhere in the multiverse that is haunted by the presence and echoes of mysterious entities from beyond space and time.The main characters face practical, political and religious hazards due to varying amounts of eldritch heritage.
(It's not supposed to be the Empire State Building elevator. Or a plot summary.) 1/2

skullduggery might happen in back alleys. Court intrigue leans toward Palace corridors and audience chambers.

Most of the conspirators are wearing silk coats with a hand-span of (often gold) embroidery along the seams and hems and around the buttonholes. If they were in our world they would also be wearing little powdered wigs, but I haven't figured out whether that fashion happened there.... (At least they dress more stylishly than our current crop of oligarchs)
