There are many things I’d like to do, like switching to a dumb phone or switching to Linux, (*not looking for tips) that on principal would be great, but given my use cases would fall short and be a lot of work to attempt.

I have tried both at different points and it reminds me how trapped we are in tech eco systems.

@BobWilliams Agree 🙂At the moment, given where Apple seems to be headed, I'd really like to get out of the Apple eco-system altogether. But unfortunately, I can't do so (at least immediately) because I have a lot of personal software which currently works only on Apple platforms. Guess I need to get re-writing ...

@f Same, it would be really difficult to decouple from it. I do enjoy working on MacOS and Apple hardware, but would like to feel as if I don’t have too.
