We have a velvet painting. My dad picked it up somewhere, and after he passed away, my husband and I received it.

When my son was really little, he stared at that painting often, and one day he announced that he wanted to go there.

I sadly explained to him that it had come out of someone's imagination, so we couldn't go there. It broke his little heart.

Well, I was wrong. It's a real place. I just learned this yesterday, and I told him immediately. We were both excited and amazed.

Now my son has a bucket list, and "visit Persepolis" is on it.

@AngelaPreston That looks like an interesting place to visit … now I guess I’ll have to find out more about it 🙂

OK, I have drink and snacks.
I'm comfortably settled.

You can now tell the story of how you learned that there was a real location behind the painting…

@arose62 It's not that exciting, really. I was scrolling through Tumblr (of all places) and suddenly I saw something Very Familiar!

I think it helped tremendously that it was done this way, with these colors.

So I reverse-image searched it and found out where it was.

Oh… so what do I do with the rest of the nibbles?

Are there no secret codes, beams of sunlight aligning to highlight the Clue?
No villains?
At least there is one other person with an eerily similar story - maybe you can start a club??

@arose62 Yes, we really need to hunt them all down and arrange them to figure out what must be a clue to some hidden store of knowledge.
