Now that Iโ€™ve got actually functional lists (not ones which duplicate content on the home timeline), I am going a bit crazy creating lists ๐Ÿ˜›

Originally, I thought Iโ€™d only have one list for people who generate a lot of content. But then I realized that I can actually create lists for people who create different types of content (mostly) โ€” a jokes list for humour; an arts list for photographers, artists, and so on โ€ฆ

This is getting a lot more complicated but also a lot more organised ๐Ÿ™‚

@tanyamr Lists didnโ€™t make a lot of sense to me till I got filtering of the main timeline implemented ๐Ÿ™‚ I read *everything* on my main timeline and so lists didnโ€™t really work for me before. But now that I can filter out everything appearing in lists from the main timeline, itโ€™s that much more useful to me personally โ€ฆ

Plus, it lets me follow a lot more people without the main timeline getting overwhelmed ๐Ÿ˜€

@f @tanyamr Same here. I follow tech and politics and mastodon news, and it's nice to keep them separate. If you want, you can use a free little web app I wrote to periodically check if I've followed anyone new but forgot to add them to a list.

It's called Listodon. It's here: https://listodon.pages.dev/

It is free, open source, and has no ads or tracking.

@f @tanyamr Oh sorry I forgot, I did add Google Analytics so I was wrong when I said it has no tracking.

But there's no personally identifiable tracking.
