Another shot from the US Southwest - this is in Canyonlands from one of the overlooks. I believe the edge of that gorge is the White Rim Trail, which I drove part of, up to Mussleman Arch. I couldn't do the whole thing though because I didn't have a proper 4x4. That's a storm in the distance - it reached us before we left the park, and the rain was so heavy that we had to stop at the visitor center to wait it out.

Zion National Park is another great place in the US Southwest to explore. This shot was taken on the hike up to Angel's Landing. Unfortunately, I didn't get all the way up, because my brother was waiting at the bottom... I had told him that I'd just hike up for 10 minutes and see what I see, but then an hour went by and I figured I should probably turn back.

This immature perched for some time on the clothes line and was looking quite aristocratic and regal. The juvenile Goldfinches are quite beautiful in the subtle colors of buff and brownish black plumage. I find that the fact that the is one of the strictest in the bird world quite interesting.

Duck!

Plumed whistling ducks, Dendrocygna eytoni, Intermediate egret, Ardea intermedia.
Ngurrungurrudjba.

I love the chaos energy of this shot, the apparently awkward yet highly skilled maneuvering, the explosion of shapes after the elegant symmetry of a flying formation, and under it all, unmoved, the intermediate egret, not ducking.

[Can't believe I forgot the hashtags. Sigh]

Looking forward to the upcoming Milky Way season! This was taken last year in Avalon, NJ. Shooting the Milky Way at the Jersey shore is always best early in the season before the crowds come back and the light pollution increases.

Someone just called me a "victim and a slave" because my profile pic had me wearing a mask. On , sadly.

Trolls do exist here too, sadly.

Didn't bother engaging, just blocked & reported. Sayonara, dweeb.

Anyway, as bizarrely as this sounds, I used the photo cos I simply thought I looked nice. πŸ˜† I wasn't making some weird political statement. In most folks are still wearing masks indoors and even outdoors.

After a titanic struggle, I have successfully pulled the largest kitchen knife from the butternut squash I was trying to cut up. I understand that this makes me the rightful king of England. I don't make the rules. (*)

(*) Well, I didn't, but now that I'm king (**), I certainly will.

(**) Having inspected my hands, I believe that I'm not just any king. Specifically, I seem to be William of Orange.

Most folks know about da VInci's Vitruvian Man. But not as many know about Buckminster Fuller's Cheetodesic Dome.
