My camera shoots fascists

For those of you who didn't want to spend last night in sub-freezing wind on a ridge top to photograph the moonset, I saved you the trouble.

Gung Hay Fat Choy - Year of the Rabbit
I wish to credit the artist but unfortunately have not successfully identified this person. It’s a beautiful graphic.

Oh, I just saw many people here are posting squirrels because it's Squirrel Appreciation Day.

This little guy here is a bit shy, but he came out of his hiding place to say "Hallo" and he appreciates being appreciated πŸ˜€

I originally came up here in Dec when we got some snow. However I got the timing wrong and missed the shot and thought I would never get another chance. Thankfully with the snow and a decent sunset I came up here again early this time! Finally caught as I wanted it !

@Curator thanks for the info. I had blocked that instance due to a nazi flag and follows from empty accounts.

@JamesTDG yes, four in the last day, all joined in the last day, all with zero posts, and one had a nazi flag in their banner image. I've blocked their domain.

Behind the waterfall ❀️ Amazing Seljalandsfoss in Iceland. Yes, you can walk right behind this wonderful waterfall -- but be prepared to get wet! πŸ™‚ And please be extra cautious in Winter, it will be slippery. Following @auschwitzmuseum means choosing to bruise my heart each time I read a post.

And it must be so much harder to actually write the posts. But they keep on anyway, bringing hope that we will do better and protect future hearts. We must never forget.

And so I think heroes aren't only the people with the courage to face fear--sometimes we need heroes with the courage to face sadness.

My love, respect, and gratitude to the people at @auschwitzmuseum

Serenity.
Black and white photography emphasizes silence, loneliness, depth.
There is nothing superfluous here.
Just look at this photo.

Masks are not a lockdown.
Nor is testing before events.
Or getting boosters.
Or improving ventilation & filtration.

None of those interventions (despite some people's best efforts to claim otherwise) cause more harm than good. Every person who cares about the economy, jobs & quality of life will support sensible precautions, not oppose them.

Some people are advocating for millions more to die and many more to be chronically disabled. Reject their patent lack of sense & empathy.

Higher risk people aren't asking for everyone to be locked down forever. They are asking people to take precautions so higher risk people aren't locked down forever.

The sky this morning was dramatic in every direction. The snowy landscape and early dawn light provided a real show of pastel shades of creamy yellow through pink to lavenders, purples and blues.

β€œLight is scattered and bounces off the ice crystals in the snow. The reflected light includes all the colours, which, together, look white.”

At this time of day the snow takes on the reflected colours of the sky. The landscape is bathed in blues. A bonny day
