You ever drive on familiar roads, but they don’t feel familiar? Had that experience driving home from the gig tonight. Everything felt slightly alien, it was odd.

My overactive imagination thinks it’s because our consciousness sometimes slips between the infinite variations of slightly different universes.Therefore they feel both foreign and familiar at the same time, creating inner discord. Yep, I’m sure that’s exactly it. Glad we got that sorted.🤔

@BobWilliams We often say this (usually when one of us doesn't remember a conversation we had) - we blame it on slipping into a closely-related-but-definitely-different-universe. And then we joke about how we spell Berenstain/Berenstein Bears.

@BobWilliams Sounds about right: always good to go with the simplest explanation, rather than something convoluted like ‘you’re a bit tired’… 😉

Happens to me all the time. But I'm a writer and trigger that kind of thing out of boredom.

@jaykass I think we sounded pretty good overall. The monitors were bad, a little distorted and the vocals weren’t in them, so I had to pull the in ears partially out. Often couldn’t hear what I was playing. So, less relaxed and fun than I’d hoped, but still good overall. Palm Tree Girls was a big hit.😂

@chameleon_muse I think I was probably overstimulated from the show, but I do ponder these things from time to time. Probably just rationalizing the anxiety I was feeling.

For me as practice, I put myself into the mind frame of a character. Experience the world through their eyes. All feels fresh & new. It's also a problem-solving activity & helps me tackle anxiety.

@chameleon_muse I like that you have this process. Perhaps by removing myself as the character having the experience, I can examine and alleviate more successfully.

It definitely helps me determine 'why' of the moment and it allows an outside view or inside. Idk. I have a lot of control over this process. Feels very game like in my mind. Chasing down the logic chains and tweaking.

@BobWilliams I actually wrote a short story about this a long time ago — about how people don’t die but simply transfer over to a new universe when they die. So from the dead person’s perspective, they go on living but the people in the old universe think that the person died …

I often refer to this when things don’t seem quite right, or something I was sure was correct suddenly turns out to be wrong — it must be because I slipped into another universe, right? 🙂
