@Laurie Some of the tropes and ideas in the series might be a little problematic now, but a re-read would be good. I literally lived in Pern when I was a teen (well, in my head, that is.)

@jolantruchng it's been so long that I don't remember anything problematic. I lived with the series in my head as a teen as well. I blame my oldest brother - he owned them all, and I borrowed them. Well, liberated a few as well. *cough*

@Laurie Same. Was browsing through a couple of Pern blogs/websites - and they raised good points (the mating flights etc). But oh boy, I love the dragons and dragon riding...

I recall having thoughts and opinions at the time I read those bits, but had no one to discuss them with.

@Laurie I was like "O.O" but felt somewhat bad/awful. But same, nobody to talk to about it.
