Running a single-user Mastodon instance is really resource intensive (for the server).
Would love to hear about any ideas anyone might have for either streamlining/optimising Mastodon or perhaps another software choice that would be better than Mastodon for a single user, and still allows moving follows/followers... π¬
Feeling in an experimental mood even though I don't really have time π
Thank you everyone for all your responses. After looking at all the suggestions I believe #Akkoma is closest to what I am looking for.
It would appear bringing followers to another software instance won't work however (only works Mastodon to Mastodon) so I'll mostly be playing around with it for now.
I see now why people have several accounts on different #Fediverse software.
For anyone else curious about Akkoma, here is the project website:
@axbom cool! Couldnt find any requirements for akkoma, is it resource thirsty?
@andre has written an overview about different mastodon alternatives:
@steken Given that was the original complaint (that mastodon was resource intensive) itβs a fair bet that the one @axbom landed on is light by comparison!
