Do you hand-make things that you sell? Do you wish Etsy would *disintegrate* for jacking up fees 30% after a record sales year?

Artisans Coop is on its way to becoming a very real Etsy alternative, a place for handmade goods that is owned by its members, that can put all that "record sales" into the pockets of sellers, not white collar thugs. And i do mean artisans, not assholes who steal designs and get them printed at a sweatshop.

How is that possible? Check it out: https://artisans.coop/blog/join-an-authentic-handmade-marketplace-now-enrolling-members/

In the last 16 hours on Mastodon I've seen a person who is an expert in cave insects, someone else who posts about moss/slime molds, and a STEM educator who takes a planetarium around remote towns in the US.

To reference Rihanna, 'This is what I came for'.

“The bison have always been there…and now they’re coming back.” Blackfeet release wild buffalo on tribal land (with a video that evokes some feelings, at least for me)

Some people post the weirdest, most nonsensical bullshit on here.

I would like to sincerely thank those people.

I think this is my first time being on the other side of a . It's pretty cool! For all the new folks here making an for those concerned about not being able to find POC, I strongly recommend starting by following hashtags and using those to follow people who use/are associated with them. I did that and found a really active, engaged, diverse, and vibrant Black community here. Use the following hashtags in particular:

(I joined last November when this hashtag was created).

There are other hashtags associated with other communities - our Indigenous siblings use and maybe , not sure. And every once in a while, someone will tweet a bunch of good accounts to follow. Personally, I could do with more or content, but that's kind of on me.

Welcome!

I'm just some newbie who has no idea what she's doing but I saw people doing posts?

I'm Eilia and I'm a game artist/writer/comic artist. I'm not a social media buff and have mostly shared my stuff in tiny communities on DeviantArt and Discord. :')

I write and read fantasy, be it historical or contemporary! I've mostly focused on writing and an isometric game concept lately so I don't have many big illustrations to show. Just rough doodles like below. x'D

Ah, text limits...

food companies being allowed to raise their prices while also making goods smaller makes me imagine how much I'd be fuckin rolling in it if I could do less work and also get paid more

16,787 servers federate with atomicpoet.org. I’ve managed to do this without employing any relays.

According to FediDB, there are 22,968 servers on the #Fediverse. Which means atomicpoet.org federates with the majority of the Fediverse.

Why is this remarkable? This is a tiny server with two accounts. Only 1,596 posts have been sent from here. In every way, atomicpoet.org is a small Fediverse server.

Now certain people will have you believe that federating is hard, that there’s an “agenda” to enforce “behavioural norms”, and that overzealous admins are quick to Fediblock small servers for arbitrary reasons.

They are wrong, wrong, wrong.

Never have I had a problem sending and receiving messages with atomicpoet.org, and I can talk to everyone I want.

On the contrary, I have a funny feeling that atomicpoet.org is far less likely to be blocked than one of the big servers.
