Another plug for #TENSMachines aka my #ElectrocutionMachine. They provide controlled electrocution to wherever you place the pads, and that interrupts pain signals, amongst other things.

If you have #ChronicPain, you might want to read up on these devices to see if they might work for you.

This one had two channels, so I can run two sets of wires. One of my wires had two pairs of connectors while the other one only has one, so I can treat a total of three areas. If I had another double connector, I could do four.

I currently have them attached to both knees plus my right shoulder/clavicle.

Painkillers tend to not work for me, so this is just brilliant. I mean, no pain would be better, but since I can't have that, I'll take this.

Hello everyone! My name is Julie, I'm one of those "covid-anxious" individuals who has restructured their entire life to attempt to survive this pandemic. I scream into the void occasionally about my frustrations.

Just sending out a welcome to our newest COVID-cautious mastodon users! Looking forward to getting to know you.

One more before month ends! I has so much fun doing this and I'm happy with the result. It's not perfect, but it doesn't have to be. What you think?

Alright, lovelies. Let's have a , to shape this space a little. I plan to do prompts/challenges, much like the main @Curator does, and I'm looking for your input. How often would you like to see these, not including boosts of other, already existing prompts? Keep in mind this can always change later as need arises!

50% Once weekly
33% Twice weekly
0% Three times a week
16% Daily (possibly weekdays only.)

If there was one piece of advice I could give to new Mastodon users who are finding their feeds quiet or boring, it is to follow as many people and hashtags as you can. This is not Twitter; there is no algorithm, it is not going to fill your feed with stuff it thinks you like. You have to curate it yourself. Once you do, though, it's so much more vibrant and rewarding than Twitter has been for a year.

Dear Twitter people. Lots of us were once Twitter people too. This place will not spoon-feed you. Passive participation doesn’t work here. This is a very active and buzzing place, but unless you FOLLOW people and INTERACT, it will pass you by.

Follow people. Lots of them. You can always remove them later. But really, follow early, follow often.

As a disabled person I noticed a lot of people in my community rely on self employment to make ends meet because working for someone else is so inaccessible and I wanted to create a place we could advertise our stuff for free and help each other out, so I've started a free monthly newsletter showing the work of disabled/chronically ill/neurodivergent/mentally ill etc people from art to articles, shops + more. Find out how to submit here: https://lissascribbles.home.blog/2023/05/01/how-to-submit-to-the-disabilitydiscovery-newsletter/

If you see people posting without alt-text and you want to give them a heads up about the practice, please be gentle and remember that a) many new folk here, and b) many spoonies.

You can link to this thread:

https://mastodon.art/@Curator/109279035107793247

Where I cover options for people low on spoons (like asking for help with alt-text and using an emoji to convey that).

Be kind in your approach. bob_ross

(For those reading, many of us won't boost posts without alt-text because they aren't accessible. <3)
